Experience
I am a Therapist Intern currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Christian University after earning my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. As part of my graduate training, I successfully passed both the Counselor Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) and the National Counselor Examination (NCE). As a Texas native, mother, and lifelong learner, I believe healing is possible and that no one needs to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. My own life experiences showed me the value of counseling and inspired me to become a therapist so I could support others through difficult and uncertain seasons. I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership, and I take a person-centered approach while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, and trauma-informed care tailored to each client’s needs. Above all, I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe, heard, understood, and supported as they move toward healing, growth, and greater hope for the future.
Your First Session
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and it's completely normal to feel nervous or unsure about where to begin. During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another, talking about what brought you to counseling and what you hope to accomplish through therapy. There is no pressure to share everything all at once. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you while beginning to identify goals that fit your needs. By the end of our first session, my hope is that you'll feel heard and understood, have greater clarity about your goals, and leave with a plan for moving forward together.
Why I Became a Therapist
I chose to become a therapist because I've seen how much someone's life can change when they have the right support. I genuinely enjoy getting to know people, hearing their stories, and helping them recognize strengths they may not see in themselves. Watching someone gain confidence, find hope, or take even a small step forward reminds me why I chose this work. Being trusted with someone's story is a responsibility I don't take lightly, and it's a privilege to be part of that journey.
Deep Dive: My Specialties
Anxiety, Depression & Stress Anxiety and depression can make even everyday responsibilities feel exhausting and difficult to manage. I help clients better understand what they are experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and develop practical tools to feel more grounded, hopeful, and confident as they move forward. Trauma, Grief & Painful Life Experiences Painful experiences and significant losses can affect the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through everyday life. I provide a compassionate space where clients can process their experiences at a pace that feels safe while rebuilding hope, resilience, and confidence in themselves and their future. Self-Worth, Parenting & Life Transitions Life changes can leave people questioning who they are, what they want, or how to move forward. Whether you're navigating relationship changes, parenting challenges, career decisions, or other major transitions, I strive to help clients recognize their strengths, challenge negative self-talk, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
When I'm Not in the Office
When I'm not in the office, I'm usually spending time with my boys, cheering them on from the sidelines, or enjoying time with family and friends. I've spent most of my life around horses, and they continue to be one of my favorite ways to find peace and recharge. I also love the beach, traveling, backyard barbecues, turning up the music in the car, and cheering on the Texans and Astros. I love to laugh, and I believe every experience in life gives us an opportunity to learn and grow.
