Your First Session
Before we begin working toward your counseling goals, it's important that you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another as I complete a comprehensive assessment to better understand your concerns, strengths, personal experiences, and what has brought you to counseling. Together, we'll begin identifying meaningful goals for therapy while building a trusting, collaborative relationship. My priority is to create a safe, client-centered space where you can share at your own pace and feel supported.
Why I Became a Therapist
My passion for counseling is rooted in a deep belief that everyone deserves to feel heard, supported, and empowered to navigate life's challenges. Through my experiences as a school counselor, crisis response team member, and parent of three teenagers, I have seen the profound impact that compassionate, evidence-based support can have in helping individuals and families heal, grow, and thrive.
Deep Dive: My Specialties
I use solution-focused talk therapy to help adults and teens navigate difficult life transitions in a compassionate environment where clients feel seen and supported. As a mother of three teens, I am particularly passionate about supporting woman and mothers in prioritizing their mental health and well-being. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help my clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, understand how their thoughts influence their emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges. I also incorporate mind-body interventions to help teens and adults strengthen the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences, fostering greater self-awareness and emotional regulation. By integrating techniques such as mindfulness, grounding, expressive arts, and journaling, I support clients in reducing stress, building resilience, and developing practical skills to navigate life's challenges with confidence.
When I'm Not in the Office
Outside of the counseling office, I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and our three teenagers, especially when we're exploring new places together. You'll often find me with a good book, tending to my growing collection of houseplants, doing yoga or planning our next family adventure—activities that always fill my bucket!
