Experience
My path to counseling has been shaped by a genuine desire to help people grow—first as an educator, then as a mother, next as a fitness instructor, and now as a counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education at Texas A&M University and began my career as an elementary school teacher. I am also a Certified Pure Barre instructor. I believe our emotional and physical well-being are deeply connected. Exercise, intentional breathing, movement, and other healthy lifestyle practices can play an important role in managing stress and supporting emotional health. Currently, I am a counseling intern pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Christian University. Your well-being and making meaningful, lasting change is my priority. I believe gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves is a vital part of healing.
Your First Session
I believe counseling begins with a therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and respect. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself and feel genuinely heard and understood. During your first session we will collaborate on goals together and get to know each other.
Why I Became a Therapist
I truly enjoy connecting with clients, understanding their individual needs, helping them recognize their potential, then inspiring them to go beyond it.
Deep Dive: My Specialties
I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients strengthen self-esteem by recognizing negative thought patterns, understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and developing healthier, more confident ways of navigating life’s challenges and coping strategies. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) along with other relationship techniques to help clients better understand and express their emotions, strengthen emotional connection, and develop healthier patterns of communication and connection in their relationships. I take a holistic mind-body approach by helping clients explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, physical well-being, and daily habits to support greater balance, resilience, and overall wellness.
When I'm Not in the Office
My three teenage kids are my biggest passion in life! My oldest is currently an Aggie, so I enjoy attending sporting events in Aggieland. Fitness, running, and hiking keeps me active. Chips, dip, and chocolate chip cookies keep me happy. I believe in them in all. Being outdoors and in nature is very therapeutic for me. I love baking and crafting. I am always thinking of my next creative project!
